So, you think you've traveled? Well, let me introduce you to the true globe-trotting experts—Pewie and Patches, the adventure cats from the Netherlands who’ve seen more of the world than most of us ever will. Seven countries, countless campsites, forests, mountains, and even encounters with deer! And while most of us are content with a cozy nap spot, these two prefer scaling trees and sniffing out the best new scents on their adventures.
In this exclusive interview, Pewie and Patches share their favorite travel moments, tips for handling long trips, and how they keep their adventurous spirit alive. Let's just say, they’ve got stories that’ll make even the bravest explorer jealous!

Pewie and Patches, you’ve visited seven countries! Which one was your favorite, and why? Did any country have the best smells?
That's quite difficult to choose! Last year we visited Slovenia for the first time. That might just be our favourite. The nature there is beautiful; including mountains, gorges, and waterfalls. And we felt very welcome everywhere. But we also love Luxembourg, which is a bit closer for us. Every country has wonderful scents to smell.
Traveling must be exciting! How do you two handle long trips—are you always ready for the next adventure, or do you need some serious nap time first?
We're always ready to hit the road! We sleep a lot while driving, so time passes quickly. And when we are awake, we also enjoy looking outside the window. Especially when we no longer drive on the highway.

When exploring nature, what’s the most amazing thing you’ve come across? Any memorable encounters with local wildlife?
There is so much beauty to see in nature. Because we live in the Netherlands where everything is flat, we love the mountains. We encountered many animals. A whole group of deers was very interesting, but we also love seeing squirrels.
Do you have a favorite spot to relax when you’re on the road, or are you always on the lookout for new places to explore?
We enjoy discovering new places. But we also have a few favorite campsites in the Netherlands where we stay with the camper. We prefer to go to a campsite where you can walk straight into the forest.

With all the traveling you’ve done, how do you keep your adventurous spirit? Any tips for other cats looking to hit the road?
We don't have to make any effort for that (yet). We're just having a lot of fun on our adventures. We are so lucky to be able to explore all these wonderful places. But of course, it is also important to have enough naptime and to find out what you like doing most.
When you’re out in the wild, what kind of adventures do you prefer—hiking through forests, scaling mountains, or maybe lounging by a lake?
We love walking in the woods where we can climb trees or climb on rocks. Unfortunately, we can't hike in the mountains often. But when we can, it's extra special.

Between the two of you, who’s the braver explorer? Is there ever a moment where one of you takes the lead while the other hangs back?
Patches is the most active and often leads the way. But we are actually just as brave. Although Pewie is a bit more relaxed with dogs.
What’s it like being in so many different places? Do you ever miss home, or is the thrill of new adventures too tempting?
Guess we see the campervan as our second home. But we also have a great time in a holiday home. We probably see our hoomans as home. As long as they are with us, it's oké. And it helps that we're so curious.

Do you ever get recognized as the famous adventure cats while traveling? How do you handle all the attention?
Ha, ha we're not that famous that people recognize us. People usually enjoy seeing us walking. They don't expect it. We let catmom deal with the attention. Pewie usually sits off to the side until people have passed by. Patches sometimes allows herself to be petted or walks toward people.
After all your adventures, what’s the first thing you do when you get home? Time for cuddles, naps, or planning the next trip?
The first thing we do is wash ourselves thoroughly. And then have a nice long sleep! Pewie and Patches remind us that adventure can be found anywhere, whether it’s climbing a mountain, exploring a forest, or even just looking out the window during a long drive. Their curiosity and courage show that the world is full of exciting places waiting to be discovered. If these two adventurous cats can travel the globe with such enthusiasm, maybe it’s time we all embrace our own journeys—whether near or far. So, pack your bags (or your favorite nap spot) and get ready for the next big adventure. There’s a whole world out there waiting for you!
